Spent last week teaching guzheng at the University of Warwick🎵
I was so surprised to find out the university already has six guzhengs! Not quite enough stands though, so we made it work with yangqin stands 🤣

What really warmed my heart was how curious and enthusiastic everyone was. The number of sign-ups was way more than I expected 🥹
I truly hope more people keep learning, and maybe one day we can even form a guzheng ensemble 🫣

📹 Exam format: Video submission
🗓 Exam dates: Oct 10 – Oct 27, 2025
📣 Results: Around 2 months after (may be delayed if near holidays/peak season)

You’ll need: ID + English & Chinese name, gender, birthday, phone, subject, grade level, repertoire, parent’s name, address, and teacher’s contact.
⚠️ Certificate info will be generated based on your registration details and cannot be changed. Please double-check!

🎼 Repertoire rules:
・One etude + one piece
・No theory required from Grade 6 upwards
・Diploma level requires Grade 9 first

Looking back to the last school day, I miss my lovely Year 2 class so much 💚 On our final day, I introduced the instrument and performed the guzheng for them as a little gift — they were so curious and full of questions about the instrument!

I told them I started learning the guzheng when I was their age, and that if they find something they love — whether it’s football, drawing, or anything else — and stick with it, one day they’ll be proud they never gave up. 15 years from now, they might just master it too 🌟

One of the songs—Eason Chan’s 《Sleep Alone》—has been giving me a real challenge. It’s in a completely different key from the rest of my setlist and super tricky to play on a pentatonic instrument like the guzheng. But after much effort, I’ve finally worked it out—just in time for Qi’s big day❤️
